Queen Elizabeth was one of England's best rulers. She was a clever and careful person. She also had an understanding of economics. She was born on September 7, 1533, in Greenwich, England. She got a very good education, but had a rough childhood that formed her as a good Queen. Her father was King Henry VIII, and her mother was Queen Anne. ​ Befroe she became Queen, both her siblings ruled. Her brother Edward reigned when he was only 10 years old after their father, Henry VIII, died. Because Mary was a Catholic, Elizabeth and Mary never got along. Elizabeth was also known as Good Queen Bess and ruled England for about 45 years. Elizabeth united England and made it a more important country while battling the Spanish Armada and the Bubonic Plague. The defeat of the Spanish Armada was one of her greatest accomplishments durring her reign. Good Queen Bess sadly never married and died on March 24,1603 at the age of 69. Her cousin's son, James VI became the King of England.
